The aim of the financial aid recipient's testimonial is to share his or her experience of studying and living in French-speaking Belgium; to inspire other international students to study here; to inform them authentically about student life, and to let them know about all the advantages our higher education establishments have to offer (quality of studies, reasonable study costs, human-sized campuses, etc.).
Testimonial features:
Testimonials can be written and/or video.
Written testimonial:
The testimonial must contain a summary of the scholarship holder's study experience in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (max. 255 characters including spaces) and a text (max. 3000 characters including spaces) highlighting:
- The course studied and the host higher education institution.
- Positive points concerning the studies undertaken (quality of training provided, skills of teachers, study environment, etc.).
- Experiences outside the chosen course (student life, Belgian culture, gastronomy, festivals, European travel, leisure activities, etc.).
- Personal and academic benefits of studying in French-speaking Belgium.
- What advice he or she would give to other applicants.
The testimonial must be accompanied by an individual photo. The background is up to you, but if there are people in it, they must not be identifiable.
Language: English or French.
Video testimonial
Duration: One minute max. per video. If the recipient wishes, he/she can make several thematic videos.
The video is to be produced using a Smartphone, vertical or horizontal format.

The file size is limited to 256 MB; authorized types: mp4, avi.

- How did you prepare for your study stay in French-speaking Belgium?
- What administrative steps did you take to come and study in French-speaking Belgium?
- Specify that you have a Master IN - WBI scholarship and explain how you obtained it.
- What type of accommodation did you live in and how did you find it?
- Where did you find the information you needed to prepare for your stay? What sources of information would you recommend?
- Do you have any advice for future students?
- How would you describe your study stay in French-speaking Belgium?
- Why did you choose French-speaking Belgium for your training (+ specify the course)?
- What did you like about your studies?
- What is a day/week like as a foreign student in Belgium?
- How would you describe your environment?
- What have you gained from this experience?
- How would you sum up your experience in 3 words?
- How would you describe life in French-speaking Belgium?
- What do you like about Belgium apart from your studies? What do you think of the quality of life?
- What do you do in your spare time? Have these activities enabled you to meet new people?

If you would like to share your study and life experience in more detail, please inform your contact person at bourses@wbi.be and Wallonie-Bruxelles Campus at wbcampus@wbi.be, who will contact the Wallonie-Bruxelles International Communications team. After a few discussions, they may offer you the opportunity to write an article entitled “Portrait of an international student in French-speaking Belgium”, or to produce a professional video about your studies and life in French-speaking Belgium.
Consent:
The grant recipient gives his/her consent for WBI and Wallonie-Bruxelles Campus to publish his/her testimonial on their various communication media (website, activity report, Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, brochures, etc.) by completing and signing the “Testimonial authorization form in Appendix 5 of the Grant Recipient's Guide”. This form must be signed and returned to bourses@wbi.be and wbcampus@wbi.be.
